JADEPALM has entered a new phase -- to start with, a crazy quilt that utilizes the fabric, thread and trimming scraps accumulated from decades of creating. This one is called the "nest quilt," aptly named for the self-made nests made from blobs of thread, enclosed under tulle and framed with rick-rack. Inspired by the embroidered medallians throughout the linen tablecloth underneath the vertical and parallel roadways and rivulets of fabric remnants. The back side shows all the stitching, miles and miles of thread, resembling a map identity with a personality all its own. This piece is NFS, but stay tuned for more to come.
